Ke$ha and the Classroom

You guys.... I can't think of a circumstance under which these two things go together. But I kid you not, yesterday as I was working with my interventions group (and the rest of my class was working on their sight words), Ke$ha came blaring through my classroom. I thought it was our TV/announcements at first and that someone in the TV studio had put in the wrong music. So I sent a kid over to turn the TV off. The TV went off, but Ke$ha didn't. The student sheepishly told me she thought it was coming from my phone. This of course meant I had to get up since I keep it out of reach. My phone, BY ITSELF, decided to turn on Pandora, turn to a "top hits" station I had never listened to before, and blast Ke$ha. How embarassing! I kid you not I had kids asking "why was there a hole in the wall?" AAAGGGGGHHHH. Guess I'm going to have to be more careful about making sure it's on silent.....

Anyways.... is anyone else stressed out feeling like ever since Thanksgiving it's been one holiday after another? We're starting Seuss this week in preparation for this birthday, but right after that is St. Patrick's Day! So of course I've got to prep that too..... Here's a look at my St. Pat's Unit:
Big Book, Little books, labeling, journal responses and glyph

literacy games - abc order, digraphs, word families, making words

Math games - Counting, Subtraction, Measurement, Spin & Graph
Get it HERE.

There's no more holidays after that till Easter..... Right??

  1. My kids would be the ones singing Ke$ha, not my phone. So far this year I have heard my students sing: Red Solo Cup, Bad Romance, The Way You Are and my favorite - Kris Kross'll make ya..Jump Jump (seriously! from the 90's when I was in elem. school!)
And you are SO right about the Holiday's UGH! Luckily we aren't in school for St. Patty's Day, so I sometimes skip it...shhh don't tell anyone!! =)
