*Free* Photo Name Tags

Alright folks, this is my last freebie of the summer! I love to use photo name tags on my students’ cubbies, especially at the beginning of the year. It really helps out those students who don’t yet recognize their own name. I created these ones to go with my theme. There is room for a small picture and their name as well at the bottom. Click HERE for free dog theme photo name tags.

I’ve also recently uploaded a few new themes...

The winner of a complete theme from my other post is... Betsy!

Congrats! Please email me at Rachelle.Ruark@gmail.com and let me know which set you prefer!

I’ve been hard at work getting ready for this coming year. This week I finished my Dismissal clip chart which you can check out HERE
I love this system because now when parents send in notes changing their child's dismissal I can just move their clip to the new dismissal and avoid any mix-ups or "oops! I forgot" moments at the end of the day!

I'll be back tomorrow with more about behavior management :)

*FREE* Calendar Cards

Monday Freebie Time! This week’s freebie is a set of calendar cards, made to match my blue/green/puppy theme.

I’ve had several requests to make some of my dog themed freebies in other themes. While I don’t mind doing this, I can't do it for free, since it required me to purchase more digital paper and it’s work I wouldn’t normally be doing for my class. BUT, they are cheap! I’ve recently uploaded owl, bright, bee, jungle and yellow & gray versions of my summer freebies. If you have other themes you would like to see, just leave me a note.

You can find them in my TPT store.

And if you haven't linked up your top 5 teaching favorites.... do that too!
If you've stuck with me this long, eave me a comment letting me know which theme is your favorite and I will select a random winner to win an entire theme set :)

*Free* Literacy Center/ Daily 5 Icons

Hey all, I apologize for the lack of posting this last week. My momma has been here and we have been beachin’ and craftin’ like crazy! I can’t wait to show you some of the things we made!
My freebie today is a set of center icons I created for my work board. I print out four sets so that I can assign them across all four of my reading groups, like this:

And if you are wondering, the reason I have two game centers is so that I can differentiate the games. The more challenging games go into center A for the the higher kids and the review games go into B for the kids who need more work on the concept.

I was inspired by Deanna’s icons, which are what I used last year. So I hunted down those cute icons at Thistlegirl, bought a license and made my own with my coordinating blue and green backgrounds. I hope you like them!  I have yet to decide if I am going to do Daily 5 yet or not, so I also created graphics that would work with the Daily 5.

*Free* Visual Direction Cards

I’m back with my Monday freebie! A few years ago, I admired the direction cards one of the first grade teachers at our school had made. She had printed words such as “cut” “glue” etc. Onto sentence strips and laminated them. Then, when they were doing a project, she put the cards up on the board’s ledge in the order she wanted the students to complete the task. Brilliant!

Except, my kinders can’t read. (most of them) So I set out looking through my clip art for pictures I could use to go along with the words. I think what I came up with is pretty cute. If you like my visual directions cards you can grab them for free HERE

If you missed my other freebies you can get them here:

All my new classroom sets will be FREE, FREE, FREE all summer. In the fall I’m going to bundle them into a packet on TPT, so grab them now!

Also, Voting starts today for the most fascinating blog award. Please vote for me using the badge at right!

Free "Where are we?" cards and a Nomination!

I’m back with another freebie I’ve created for my classroom! You’ll remember I’m decorating with blue, green, and puppies all over! I first saw the neat idea of a "where are we? board" over at Mrs. Freshwater’s site. She saw the idea from Smiling inSecond
Smiling in Second's Board
I knew I would need to do a little tweaking for this to work for my kinders. First up, I needed to add some more places. We’re a fine arts magnet school so we go to more fine arts classes than your average kindergarten. Second, I wanted to add some pictures. Mrs. Freshwater had the great idea of adding a job to your job board so that one of the kids is in charge of updating the board each time you leave the class. But most of my kinders won’t be able to read when they come to me, so picture cues should help! I decided to make my board just a regular sized piece of paper and I’ll put some Velcro down at the bottom and on the back of the cards. I plan to hang it outside my room with a pouch nearby with all the strips. When it’s time to leave the room my helper can just pick out the right card and stick it on! You can get my free “where are we?” set HERE.

AND, I was so surprised this morning to see an email that I have been nominated for an award! I hope you all will vote for me starting June 25th!

Free Days of the Week Cards

I'd like to start off this post by saying that there may not be anyone who is able to use these. They've been made to match my color scheme {blue and green} and my theme {puppies}. But I still want to offer them up to everyone. If you have a puppy theme or a blue and green theme...these are for you! Or maybe you don't have a theme and like cute stuff.... these are for you too! The set includes three posters and seven cards to go along with your calendar board.

You can get them for free HERE. Drop me a note if you grab them!
