Spring Cleaning!

Hi friends! It's spring break so I don't have a whole lot to post! I'm linking up with Krista over at The Creative Chalkboard on a Spring Cleaning Sale.  My sale will actually start today and continue until the 31st, because I won't have time tomorrow! Anniversary Flash Sale

Happy 3rd Anniversary Mr. Rosenblit!!!

I had to get blood drawn this morning, and he has to work late tonight so we'll be celebrating together later this week. But to celebrate today I'm throwing a flash sale! Everything in my store is 20% off today only!

Five for Friday (On Saturday)

I know, it's Saturday. Late again. But yesterday was the start of our spring break and I didn't want to do anything but relax!! I've made up for it today, I promise. (See #5)

Here we go! 

1. It's officially spring! To celebrate we made the adorable rainbow windsocks I saw over at Kinder-Craze. We painted the rainbows on St. Patrick's Day, then added the streamers and hung them this week. 

2. We did some adorable story retelling this week from Kim & Michelle's 5th Reader's Workshop Unit. The kids ate it up!

3. We're ears deep in our plant unit and having a blast! 

4. Friday we had field day! 

5. Now that we're officially on spring break I've been busing finishing up some things, they are now posted so check them out!!

This week I am hoping to finish up my spring centers as well as pocket chart stories for April & May. Happy Spring!! 

From the mouth of babes.

You overhear a lot of crazy stuff as a teacher. Every now and then you hear something that stops you in your tracks and makes you beam like you're made of sunshine.

Like this group of 5 year olds. Observing their growing bean sprouts and casually discussing photosynthesis amongst themselves. I almost couldn't believe it. Carbon Dioxide, they said. Water, they said. Light and Chlorophyll, they said. Glucose and oxygen, they said. Hallelujah! They Listened! I said.

So. Proud.

A warning for all!

The beach is have very water, but you can not drink that water or you can die in side the beach.

Five for Friday {March 8th)

 
Woo Hoo!!! It's Friday!! Here's a quick peak at our week:

1) We started our plant unit! We had so much fun planting our seeds today! This week we started our KWL chart, and focused on the different kinds of plants.

2) After 7 1/2 years I finally got a document camera in my classroom!! What a difference it makes with modeling!!

3) We finished up Black History this week. Here's a look at some of my students precious writing.

4) We started learning about nouns this week too. My kids loved this video as much as I did way back when. Bonus points if you recognize it!!

5) This is one of my new favorite recipes!! Jerk Pork with Tropical Salsa, served over rice. So YUM!

Peek at my Week {March 4th - 8th}

This is my very first time linking up with Mrs. Wills for a peek at my week! My visual lesson plans were inspired by hers! I had an elephant of a time figuring out how to fit everything on there without it all being too small to read. You'll notice a few things -
1) I teach writing twice, and math not at all. I switch with my next door neighbor and teach her kids writing while she teaches my kids math
2) Due to our short day, we do science and social studies every other day
3) I've linked up every product I use whether it's mine or not so that if you're interested you can click on it and it will take you right over to it's TPT page.
4) Yes, I know it's now March, but we're still finishing up Black History month. We got a late start due to 100s day, groundhogs day, and valentine's day

Five For Friday {March 1st}

It's linky time!!! Here's five random things from my week!

1. Today we celebrated "He who must not be named"! I sincerely apologize to those who have requested the unit that was previously up, but like everyone elses, it was taken down. I can still use it in my class though right? (I hope!) Here's some of our fun:

2. We are getting ready to start plants in our science series! I finished this new unit just in the nick of time!  I got a project funded through Donors Choose earlier in the year and I can't wait to let each student grow their own seed in their own little greenhouse!

3. Today in the staff lunch room the following video was watched. Over. and. over. You're welcome in advance for the laugh.
4. These marinades are my new favorite thing. Throw them on chicken, fish, pork and let em chill in the fridge for an hour or so and dinner is ready!

5. I got a new car!!!! Isn't she so pretty?
